Mainly Mozart & Promotora de las Bellas Artes present “The Sea Unites Us – Music For Our Coast” featuring the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra & Promotora de las Bellas Artes Children’s Choir, along with special guests, the San Diego Children’s Choir and the San Diego State University Chamber Choir. Please join us for a wonderful evening of music highlighting the importance of ocean conservation and the care for our shared coasts. The program for the evening includes a 12-15 min commissioned piece by Mexico City composer, Jorge Cozatl. The Walter Munk Foundation for the Oceans provided valuable research content that assisted Jorge in composing his new work.
This concert is a part of the larger Binational Resilience Initiative project which aims to generate a program of binational environmental-coastal activities with an artistic and creative approach, aimed at children, youth and their families. It also focuses on promoting a generation of agents of change in binational children and youth, combining environmental education, conservation, and the care of living things with the arts, especially music. This concert will be followed by a second free community concert that will be held in Tijuana on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
