Events Manager

Reporting to the Associate Director of the Campus Performances & Events Office, the CPEO Events Manager uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional, to provide comprehensive coordination and management oversight of events. This role will be responsible for supporting a team of events and operational staff, primarily focused on the newly constructed Epstein Family Amphitheater (EFA), which is scheduled to open October 2022.

The CPEO Events Manager provides comprehensive event planning, coordination, and management support for programs on the UC San Diego campus. This position serves as the primary client point of contact for the EFA, overseeing the reservation process with the Associate Director of Campus Performances and Events. This role will help manage reservations, rentals, and contracting related to the amphitheater to ensure a robust calendar of events in benefit of the campus, its students, and the surrounding community.

CPEO Events Manager will support student organizations, campus departments, and clients in producing events at the EFA. Responsibilities include identifying and coordinating of event logistics ranging from security, parking, box office, event portering services, usher calls, set up, and tear down of events. The CPEO Events Manager will be involved in the managing of concession vendors, marketing efforts, and supporting front of house operations.

This role is responsible for the supervision and training of a student event services team and providing work direction for other career event professionals. The CPEO Events Manager will effectively hire and train student team members in venue operations, ushering roles, and event coordination. This position is responsible for the interpretation and application of University policies, budget management, staff scheduling, talent buying, and providing supervision to the student event services team. The position facilitates the smooth and safe operation of events and works cooperatively with staff, students, faculty and off-campus vendors and partners.

The CPEO Events Manager will also be supporting other areas of the Campus Performance and Events Office, including events and traditions across campus. This position may serve in a variety of event management capacities throughout the course of the year and will apply industry best practices to support a range of events.

Events Coordinator 2

Reporting to the Associate Director of the Campus Performances & Events Office and receiving some work direction from the CPEO Events Manager, the CPEO Events Coordinator provides comprehensive coordination and management of events. Responsible for supporting a team of events and operational staff, primarily focused on the newly constructed Epstein Family Amphitheater (EFA), which is scheduled to open in October 2022.
